Philanthropy

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.

We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.

Alpha Beta's Philanthropy

At Alpha Beta, we hold our philanthropy, CMNH, very close to our hearts! Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, is an organization that provides assistance to families who are in the hospital throughout their journey. They provide financial assistance and perform medical research to ensure that these kids are getting the best care possible. Our role in helping out CMN Hospitals is donating our time and money in any and all ways we can. Because we help out Arkansas Children's Northwest in Springdale, AR we are able to see the tangible impact we are making which is unique to our philanthropy. We have two big philanthropy events each school year that help us raise money to donate to Arkansas Children's Northwest. In the fall, we host and event called Miracle Man, which is essentially a talent show between the male greek organizations on campus. Phi Mu's are able to coach the teams on their talent which always results in strong connections across campus. Our event in the spring is different every year, but never fails to bring our chapter together in a fun and engaging way. Last year, we hosted Phi Mu BBQ where we had BBQ sandwhiches, live music, and were able to build campus-wide connections while raising money for our philanthropy! Throughout the semester, we have percentage days with local businesses across Fayetteville to encourage sisterhood and philanthropy. Our members show up and show out on percentage days, helping us raise hundreds of dollars throughout the semester that go towards Arkansas Children's Northwest.
